Job Title: Project Manager/Operations Engineer  
Reports to: Vice President
Location: Greensboro, NC (Greensboro Office)


Position Summary:
This position is responsible for assisting the North Carolina Division by estimating projects, scheduling projects, preparing and submitting bids, reviewing contracts, and preparing project controls reports. The position requires analytical thinking, problem solving abilities, excellent computer skills, and a working knowledge of the pipeline construction industry. The employee will be working with various departments and will provide input and recommendations for improvements that will help management make strategic decisions and create policies that help the company operate more efficiently. The position may include supervisory responsibilities over one to several employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
• Providing support to the team in estimating, preparing and submitting bids in a professional and timely manner.
    o Reviewing and Scheduling Bids / Proposals
    o Attend Pre-bid meetings when required
    o Read and understand contracts, plans, and specifications
    o Ask detailed questions and incorporate responses in proposal
    o Work collaboratively with team to prepare project estimates and review with management
    o Prepare and submit final proposals to the customer in a professional and timely manner
• Work with management when contracts are awarded to develop a complete project package, including all project documentation, bid budget, schedule, subcontracts, etc.
• Facilitate project kick-off meetings and transition to operations group
• Provide project management support for large projects, or highly sensitive projects, as required
• Assist in contract change management and negotiation processes
• Prepare and distribute project controls reports for various special projects, as well as standardized weekly reports for blanket work
• Assist operations in scheduling major projects using MS Project and the Gantt chart method of scheduling
• Provide input on potential areas for improvement in process management and operational efficiencies whenever possible
• Handle special assignments and projects as requested


Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
• Engineering degree preferred, analytical thinking required
• Requires a working knowledge of the pipeline construction industry
• Understands how to read project plans and specifications
• Understands contract language and requirements
• Effective time management skills, understands how to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Experience in pipeline project estimating and Gantt chart scheduling
• Demonstrates commitment to high professional ethical standards
• Excels at operating in a fast pace environment, where multiple deadlines are critical
• Collaborative work style and commitment to get the job done
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written • Excellent computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project, and Outlook
