Position Overview:

Serve as the overall safety leader for the company, achieving high level results by providing overall strategic leadership, and embrace continuous improvement methodologies to build a strong company-wide safety culture. To develop, implement, and manage effective safety programs, as well as meet all customer and applicable local, state, and federal rules and regulations.

Essential Functions:

• Provide overall strategic leadership to set the direction of the company’s program
• Partner with executives, managers and team members to promote participation and bring a cohesive approach to the safety program
• Drive the operational implementation of strategies and initiatives in a way that builds a company-wide safety and compliance culture
• Oversee and enforce compliance with all customer, OSHA, Local/State ordinances, and DOT Regulations including NFPA, NEC, NIOSH, and PHA recommendations pertaining to company operations
• Review internal health & safety programs, procedures, and policies to ensure they are current and appropriate; conduct hazard and risk assessments and make changes as appropriate
• Provide analysis of trends/data and provide recommendations for follow-up and action
• Work with location managers to manage and reduce workers compensation claims and ensure appropriate return to work, work transfer, and fit for duty programs
• Manage accident investigation and reporting program to prevent recurrence of incidents and to ensure information is shared adequately across all locations. Revise procedures as appropriate
• Develop and implement compliance audits of operations for all locations to ensure company and regulatory requirements are being met and report findings to executive management and business leaders
• Provide written reports, as well as other production-related results/metrics and updates
• Attend relevant industry conferences and professional meetings to maintain professional competencies and benchmark company performance
• Identify innovations and best practices and implement them to fit the company
• Monitor and oversee quality assurance & safety training program managers
