Job Title: Field Safety Auditor

Location: Conyers, Georgia

Position Summary:
Southeast Connections, LLC, a natural gas pipeline installation contractor, is seeking a Field Safety Auditor to perform safety and quality audits of its crews working in Georgia. The ideal candidate would be familiar with natural gas construction and would demonstrate leadership on SEC jobsites by documenting, coaching, & correcting employees who exhibit unsafe work practices, poor quality, or procedural violations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Stop any unsafe work
  • Clearly articulates Company’s safety vision, objectives, strategies, policies and procedures
  • Lead with integrity and be an example to other employees
  • Know Company and Customer procedures inside and out and be able to verify employees are following those procedures on the job site
  • Know and understand OSHA standards that apply to SEC work
  • Help create safety messages, tailgate topics, and procedural changes that help improve the safety and quality of SEC’s field crews
  • Train employees on new and existing procedures. Classroom training from time to time
  • Perform Safety Audits of SEC field crews across the State of Georgia. Items to be audited will include: joining/welding of steel pipe, joining/fusing of plastic pipe, directional boring, open trench excavations, locate tickets, permit tickets, etc. as well as understanding Georgia dig law, employee Operator Qualification (OQ) records, OSHA standards, company standards, and customer procedures
  • Participate in incident investigation process that identifies root cause of incidents and develops corrective actions to mitigate future risk

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 relevant years of experience, natural gas experience strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 1 Year in a field leadership position (Foreman, Supervisor, etc.)
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to drive a company vehicle
  • Effective verbal communication skills. Willing to speak up in front of large groups
  • High school education, college preferred
  • Computer Literate (position will require work on tablet and laptop)
  • Competent Person Certification

Working Conditions:

  • Extensive travel by vehicle
  • Work at construction job sites in all types of weather conditions
  • Must be able to perform activities requiring use of arms and legs, including climbing ladders, lifting and handling materials, walking and balancing and stooping
  • Must be able to see clearly and recognize small details
  • Weekend work is required
