JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Area Manager
Location: Dallas, Texas

JOB PURPOSE

This management role provides leadership and direction to construction crews in an assigned area, rendering hands-on assistance as necessary. Accountable for all aspects of each project to which crews are assigned. Responsible for field operations, customer relations and business development in an assigned area, territory, customer, or project. Manage the operations with focus on safety, compliance, efficiency, cost management and innovation. Manage construction activities to ensure company and customer procedures are followed and compliance is maintained relative to all applicable local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY SUMMARY

  • Champion own safety by modeling behaviors, maintaining a drug free work environment, and performing corrective action when appropriate
  • Serve as point of contact with customers, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Manage and oversee the execution of field deliverables according to customer specifications and contract requirements
  • Manage the planning and executing of projects and contracts by organizing work methods and developing schedules
  • Manage cost control, margin expectations, productivity, change orders and equipment reporting
  • Manage and develop labor and employee relations
  • Develop and maintain business relationships, including attending customer meetings
  • Coordinate with support operations for all required materials and equipment
  • Ensure all project work is compliant with installation standards and is being performed safely
  • Directly responsible for managing office functions and administrative personnel
  • Work closely and collaboratively with safety team members, always promoting continuous improvement of safety culture

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Education            Required: High school diploma
Experience          Required: Seven years field experience in natural gas pipeline construction, with two years supervisory experience
Qualifications     Preferred: Strong interpersonal, team-oriented skills, self-motivated with strong bias toward timely performance and problem                                  resolution demonstrated in a construction environment; valid driver’s license with clean driving record
Special Knowledge/Skills
Required: Attention to detail, organization skills, management skills, the ability to read and draft construction drawings (as-builts), project management skills, negotiation skills, customer relation skills, strong communications and interpersonal skills, strong leadership skills, computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Excel.
