Position Overview:

The AutoCAD Field Technician provides oversight and project support by monitoring, documenting, and reporting field operations production in compliance with our customers’ requirements.

Essential Functions:

  • Review & track project daily production reports submitted by field operations team
  • Field verify & record reported project production
  • Communicate and resolve field reporting errors and omissions with field operations group
  • Ensure customer contract compliance, including collecting traceability information and preparing as-build drawings per our customers’ requirements
  • Assist AR/Billing team in resolving project billing issues
  • Monitor and review reported project materials submitted daily by our field operations group.  Identify and communicate any over, under, or omitted project materials
  • Balance projects at completion ensuring accurate final billing, materials accountability, and any other contract deliverables
  • Track field operations & production
  • Take field measurements on pipe & fittings installed & use this information to create CAD generated drawings for billing purposes
  • Maintain test charts from field operations team

Qualifications:

Education

High School Diploma or technical school training in drafting, project coordinator, and/or project management experience will be helpful.

Experience

  • Construction experience, preferably in the natural gas industry a plus.  Prior experience with utility construction drawings helpful.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic project coordinating/management practices. Able to work and communicate effectively in written form, e-mail, or in person with all levels of the company.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Possess moderate MS Excel and MS Word skills. Manages own workload effectively and efficiently; sets priorities, shifts priorities, and adapts to rapid changes in priorities.
  • Able to support a dynamic project environment with time-driven deadlines.
  • Must be detailed orientated and be able to multi-task accurately meeting deadlines.
  • Basic contract, bid sheet, & construction design drawing knowledge helpful
  • Available for travel if needed
